Now that the new year is here we are focused on keeping the momentum from 2011 and finishing a few exciting projects in the next couple of months. But as with any business we are looking forward to what we want to achieve in the exciting 12 months ahead too.
So what did you decide was a priority for your organisation in 2012? Make any rash new years resolutions about developing your online systems after a few too many drinks at the christmas party?
Well, 2012 has arrived and NOW is the time to put those words into action! Just do it, do something, ANYTHING! Break your larger goal into action steps - we have!
Step 1:
Our boys are off to Drupal Downunder conference in Melbourne later in the week - if you are considering Drupal for your business, NFP or Government organisation get yourself to Melbourne or catch us when we get home for a chat about how it could work for you!
Step 2:
Share the love - we will organise a Drupal meet up in Feb for anyone interested in learning more about drupal or discussing the outcomes of the conference.
Well, December has snuck up a scared the bejesus out of us here at Alma Tech so we'll be taking a break to calm our nerves and indulge in some non work related activity from Friday 23rd December to Monday 9th January 2012.

Trolling through our statistics the other day I came across a bit of an anomally where users had searched for terms like build my own website course etc etc. It got me thinking "Is there really a need out there for a course that shows you how to build your own website?"
Because I can tell you we have tried it before and the response was NOT overwhelming and the results of the people we have taught was less than successful.
Most Drupal admins will be familiar with the Imagecache module - it lets you manipulate images server-side by creating image presets. An image preset can mean, for example, that all images uploaded to the 'Article' content type are automatically resized and cropped to display as thumbnails within the article. This is a very handy feature, made even better by the fact that Imagecache made it into Drupal 7 core as the Image Styles module. Now Drupal 7 has this functionality out-of-the-box!
For the first time in foreva Alma Technology has taken a long hard look at itself and dedicated some time to our own website. We thought we might take advantage of the mad internets skills we have in-house and build ourselves a site that looks pretty and sprukes our wares!
So the boys have knocked something up for us that I think will knock your socks off. No seriously, part of the rebuild has included developing new systems & more efficient processes behind the scenes at Alma Technology.
