Do you really want a course to learn how to build a website?

Trolling through our statistics the other day I came across a bit of an anomally where users had searched for terms like build my own website course etc etc.
It got me thinking "Is there really a need out there for a course that shows you how to build your own website?"

Because I can tell you we have tried it before and the response was NOT overwhelming and the results of the people we have taught was less than successful.

What we learnt from that experience is that people don't really wan't to build their own websites. They either want to be involved in the planning and implementation of a new site or they want to know how they can be involved in maintaining it, adding and unpublishing content when it suits them.  I think people searching for the "how to build your own website" results might just be asking the wrong question.

Today's websites are (or should be) built to a standard that, unless your are going to commit to years of institutionalised study, really should be left to the professionals (or rare and gifted nerds - see alma technology staff).
